Terminology

Block

A rectangle on a Page, containing for example the Links from a Category.

Category

A collection of Links defined by an Expert and displayed as a Link Block. A category is unique on one Subject, but can be shared among multiple subjects. If the category is too general it’s possible to add a More Link to another subject.

Click

The action when a user clicks on a link and follows through to the link’s web site.

Click-Through Ratio (CTR)

Percentage of visitors who click-through on a link to visit the link’s web site.

Content Curation

Is the process of collecting, organizing and displaying information relevant to a particular topic or area of interest.

Curator

curator (from Latincurare meaning “take care”) is a manager or overseer. Traditionally, a curator or keeper of a cultural heritage institution (e.g., gallerymuseumlibrary or archive) is a content specialist responsible for an institution’s collections and involved with the interpretation of heritage material.

Directory

A Web directory is a collection of organised and categorised links to websites.

Expert

An expert is someone widely recognized as a reliable source of technique or skill whose faculty for judging or deciding rightly, justly, or wisely is accorded authority and status by their peers or the public in a specific well-distinguished domain

Page

A collection of Blocks about a specific Subject managed by an Expert.

Subject

A Page about a specific subject, or a collection of pages about a specific subject. Each of these pages are managed by an Expert. Via a/b testing the best performing page is determined and than displayed as default page for the subject.

Views

The amount of impressions shown, a visitor can create views for multiple pages in a single visit.

Visits

Visits represent the number of individual sessions initiated by all the visitors to your page.
